Jarrod, a hitman with a heart or at least a strict moral code, meets Sorcha, a woman whose very visible scars show she survived the unthinkable, when she picks him up on the side of the road. The plan is to take him to a landline phone so he can get his car towed. However, things rarely go as planned which for this couple may be a blessing in disguise.
I was drawn to this book not only because of the hitman finds love troupe is one of my favorites, but because I've read Renee Lovins, Ink Deep and loved her work. She did not disappoint. Once again, her characters had depth, and an interesting backstory.
The only thing I'd critique is there wasn't really much of a hurdle threatening to off track the road to happily ever after. Hence, getting four stars instead of five.
