I can usually tell if a book is something I am going to enjoy within three or four pages. Well it only took two pages of Desired by Alisa Wood to grab my attention. There is drama, high emotions and hot, sexual encounters that will keep you glued to the pages.

The characters were what drew me in so quickly. It was obvious from the beginning that Lucas was a troubled soul but a good man. I truly appreciated that despite his desire to mind his own business he couldn’t help by do the right thing and protect Mia. I love an alpha man who is just as protective as he is caring. Mia’s intelligence, independence and sassy attitude appealed to me immediately. You could also sense her pain which drew me in.

This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Wood and I was impressed with her writing skills. The story flowed naturally and the dialogue came across as authentic. The emotions were believable and both characters came across as real despite being werewolves. The chemistry between Lucas and Mia was undeniable. I appreciated how Ms. Wood slowly revealed important details so that I never lost interest.

Desired is the first book in a continuing series so it ends on a cliffhanger. I certainly don’t mind cliffhangers as long as I know about them so consider yourself warned. I have no doubt that you will be so invested in the story and these characters that you will be running to the store to get the second installment. The good news is that book two is already available so you don’t have to wait.
