Pleasantly Surprised!!

First I would like to mention that I got this book from the author on Novel Reviewers to read the book in exchange for the chance to have the book read and a reviewed.

I never read the synopsis for the book when I requested it, I liked the cover and the title and just decided to give it a chance.

When I first started reading I thought that I wasn't going to like the book when I realized that it had paranormal/supernatural aspects and that is not usually the kind of story that I go for. (Especially werewolves)

However, I was pleasantly surprised that the story was more involving of Caitlin's life as a human transitioning after her attack that was inevitably going to turn her into a werewolf. Without spoiling the story too much it focused on how being affected by the curse that is either going to change or end her life.

Another interesting thing I noticed was the age of Caitlin, I really liked the fact that she wasn't just some teenager in high school. It really added to her personality and the situations she found herself in were more believable because of it.

The one thing I found difficult about this book at times were the imagined scenarios that she saw, I often thought were really happening and when the scene changed and I was confused. However, it's possible I just wasn't absorbing what I was reading at the time and its just a "me" thing.

Anyway, this was actually a really good book and I would read more paranormal/supernatural books if they were written this way. I love when the characters have a good back story and a great personality. Thumbs up!
