Definitely rough love!!
Wow!! I have read a few of Annanbel's books before ( loved the ballet and circus themed books) so I was really looking forward to this. Torment me was a cracking read, darkly delicious, I really didn't like 'W'. He was borderline depraved, his use of a here's body blew me away ( not always in a good way) yet I couldn't stop reading it!!
Annanbel's weaves a darkly magical story. We are dragged into Chere's awful life and by the end I really wanted her to leave them all behind.
In a weirdly sadistic way I think W is falling for her but I hated the way he treated her. particularly when he adopts a Texan drawl ( I don't want to say too much as I'll give away the plot). This particular chapter would usually be a hard limit for me but somehow I carried on and despite hating it I could see the reason it was included.
Poor Chere is really forced into her role as a high class escort, every where she looks she sees badly treated women who are used by men. Why shouldn't she make some money from them??
I cannot wait to read the next instalment. I need answers surrounding W!!
