A Refreshing Dystopian

I was wildly pleased by this book. I've grown wary of dystopians lately, but this was wonderfully paced and had the feel of an epic without the harrowing length - I actually read it in one long sitting. The character growth was subtle and natural, and the resolution was believable and still left room to tackle issues in future books. Some of the character voices didn't quite jive throughout the book - Orah, especially, grew quite formal a few times in ways that felt unnatural, but ultimately detracted little from the work. The background was well laid out in both substance and setting, and to be quite honest some of the content it plays into a few personal fears of mine. A truly engrossing and thought provoking read.
