...a quick read that didn't even attempt to deviate from the "quick romance novel" checklist. Main characters with serious baggage, check. Falling in "hopeless, all consuming love" in 48 hours or less, check. Utterly ridiculous plot twists anyone could see coming a mile away, check. The lovers making it out of a completely unbelievable situation to be together, check. I failed to connect with this book in any way. The characters were annoying instead of endearing and I can only suspend reality so much without some help from the story. Don't make an independent and strong female character who is utterly blind to what is going on in front of her. Give her some credit and intelligence. Strong characters need to be strong in their own right.
